Faye Jacobs: Artist’s Statement Textiles are a lifelong spiritual journey, filled with curiosity about the world, revealed by discovering and studying textiles expressed in all cultures. Thread, yarn, cloth and felt are all tactile, warm, textural and flush with colour. I realize that weaving, especially, is my internal mathematical space, allowing me to set things properly in place. The medium makes it possible interact on two and three-dimensional platforms. Whether a free-standing sculpture, handmade paper/silk or felt, wearable art or eco-dyed scarf, I work to infuse energy of mindful growth in every piece. My life is rich with ‘textile people’, who give me joy. |
